What Makes Recording at Subterranean Studios Different?
Recording at Subterranean Studios is a very different experience to what you might be accustomed to. Does any of the following sound familier?
- The last time you did some recording in a professional studio, did the engineer explain the recording process, or did they just drop you in at the deep end and expect you to know how it would all work?
- Were you constantly up against the clock, being charged a stupid amount of money per hour?
- With all the time pressure, did you feel that your recording suffered as a result of this, did you wish you had more time?
- Did you get the impression that the engineer really didn't care about your recording, that you were just another paycheque?
- Did you have to rush your recording to leave time for mixing at the end of the session?
- Did you have a constructive say over the mixing, or did you feel the engineer just took over and didn't give you any options?
- At the end of the process, despite the money spent, were you unhappy with your finished recording?
These are all too common complaints about modern recording. We aim to be different.
You'll get to work with an experienced engineer, who'll go through the recording process in detail with you before you start. And all of the time you've booked for recording, you'll get to spend recording, mixing is done afterwards and the cost is built into the overall package. You'll get time to experiment with different approaches and the engineer will always be on hand to guide you. Also, you'll be allowed to get actively involved in the mixing, we want you to make the kind of recording you want. We view every new recording session as a production project, we want to help you make the best record possible.
